1st
Day:
VENICE
Boarding at 18h at San
Basilio (vaporetto station Santa Marta).
Settling in on board. Presentation of the crew. Welcome cocktail.
Departure for the wharf of the 7 Martyrs. Dinner on board and free
evening in Venice. Overnight stopover.
2nd
Day: VENICE – TAGLIO
DI PO – POLESELLA
Departure of the boat
early in the morning. Breakfast during the
cruise. Morning sailing for Taglio di Po via the Adriatic. Lunch on
board. We will reach Taglio di Po around 13h30. Departure by coach for
the optional guided tour of Padua, the city of Saint Anthony but also a
city of art and pilgrimage. After visiting the famous “Santo”, the
basilica devoted to Saint Anthony, you will have the chance to stroll
around the historic centre and discover the “Café Pedrocchi”, dear to
the citizens of Padua. During this time, the boat will sail to
Polesella where we will join it at around 18h30. Dinner, free evening.
Overnight stopover.
3rd
Day: POLESELLA –
FERRARA – VERONA – TAGLIO DI PO
After breakfast on
board, departure by coach for the tour of Ferrara.
Listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO, this refined city was once
home to the Este court. Back to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon,
departure by coach for Verona. Tour of this magnificent Italian city,
famous for its star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, and its Roman
theatre. Back on board in Polesella and cruise to Taglio di Po which we
will reach in the evening. Gala dinner on board. Overnight stopover.
4th
Day: TAGLIO DI PO –
CHIOGGIA (or thereabouts) – VENICE
Departure of the
cruise early in the morning, breakfast on board. We
will reach Chioggia (or thereabouts) during the morning. Chioggia, a
port city of Roman origin, was the second most important city in the
republic of La Serenissima and houses works and testimony from various
periods and in various styles. Explore the town on your own. Back to
the boat for lunch. Departure of the cruise for Venice, which we will
reach around 15h. Optional guided tour of the Doges Palace – the symbol
of Venetian glory and power – and the celebrated Piazza San Marco. Back
on board for the evening. Dinner on board. Free evening. Overnight
stopover.
5th
Day: VENICE – ISLANDS
IN THE LAGOON – VENICE
Breakfast on board.
Departure for the optional excursion to the Islands
in the Lagoon. Murano, famous for its glasswork. You can also visit its
beautiful churches, particularly Santa Maria et San Donato, one of the
oldest in the lagoon. And Burano, a fishermen's island, also famous for
its lacework. Old lace is still made on this island in the estuary.
Back on board at the wharf of the 7 Martyrs. Lunch on board. Free
afternoon or the chance to take a trip in a gondola. Back on board for
the evening. Dinner and free evening. Overnight stopover.
6th
Day:
VENICE
Departure early in the
morning from the Wharf of the 7 Martyrs for San
Basilio Wharf. Breakfast on board. Disembarkation at 9h. End of our
journey.
