 SAMPLE ITINERARY*
Day 1 Departure from USA and overnight on
board of your plane.
Day 2 Arrival in Palermo. Pick up your car at the
airport and drive to Palermo city centre. After check-in at the hotel, choose to relax or begin your exploration
of this very enchanting city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Become acquainted with Palermo and its marvels,
its splendid patrician mansions and many important monuments:
the Royal Palace with the Palace Chapel, the Cathedral, the "Martorana" church, Piazza Pretoria and Palazzo
Steri.
Day 4:
visit Palermo surroundings: do not miss the wonderful beaches of Mondello
or the famous Monreale. Overnight.
Day 5 Take your car to Agrigento described by the
the poet Pindaro "the most beautiful city of mortals".
Become acquainted with Agrigento and its
marvels: after 2.000 years, you can
still admire the splendor of the
""Valley"" with its majestic Doric
Temples and its major landmark, the
impressive Temple of the Concord,
considered the best kept monument in all
the Magna Grecia. And after the visit of the Temples enjoy "Le Stoài" the
virtual walk through the ancient Akragas and one of the most impressive shows of
Greek culture, Sicilian tradition, and Regional handicrafts. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, pick
up your car to reach Siracusa, located in the southeastern coast of Sicily. The old portion of the city is situated
on Ortygia Island, separated by a canal from the mainland. The remains of the city include a Greek Theater, cut
out of rock; a Roman amphitheater; the great altar of Hiero II;
the citadel built by Dionysius the
Younger early in the 4th century BC. The
Fountain of Arethusa is a famed
landmark. Overnight at your hotel in
Naxos - Taormina.
Day 7 Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up your car and
continue to Catania passing through unique urban landscape and very fascinating areas. Arrival in Catania. After
check in at the hotel, rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 Breakfast at the hotel. Start your visit to
this fascinating city facing the majestic Volcano Etna. Among the most important monuments of the city are the
Cathedra and the Castello Ursino, the splendid Baroque mansions of Crociferi's Street. In the afternoon, visit
pretty little towns in Catania's Province such as Acireale, a baroque town overlooking the sea, perched on a high
terrace of lava, or Aci Trezza, a small village with ancient sea-faring traditions and Caltagirone, where the traditional
ceramic craftsmanship is to be seen in the streets where balustrades, vases and decorations are embellished in
a varied and multi-colored manner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up your car to
reach Palermo airport for your return flight to the USA.
