ITINERARY:
1st Day: VENICE
Boarding at 6.00pm in Venice at St Basilio quay (vaporetto
station Santa Marta) and on to 7 Martyrs
quay. Time to settle comfortably in your cabins before
being presented to the crew during a welcome
cocktail reception served in the lounge.
Dinner on
board and free evening in Venice. Overnight stop.
2nd Day: VENICE – TAGLIO DI PO – POLESELLA
Early morning start and breakfast on board. The
morning will be spent cruising towards Taglio
di Po, on the Adriatic Sea. Lunch on board before
reaching Taglio di Po around 1.30pm. Then leave by
coach on a guided tour of Padua (optional), the
town of St Antoine di Padova, but also famous for art
and pilgrimages. Following a visit to the “Santo” basilica,
dedicated to St. Antoine, take a stroll through
the historic town centre and discover the “Pedrocchi
coffee house”, dear to the inhabitants of Padua.
Meanwhile, the ship cruises back to Polesella where
you will join it around 6.30pm.
Dinner on board and
free evening. Overnight stop.
3rd Day: POLESELLA – FERRARA – VERONA – TAGLIO DI PO
After breakfast, set off by coach to visit Ferrara,
awarded World heritage status by Unesco, this town
was home to the Este Court. Return to the ship
for lunch. Early afternoon, set off by coach to visit
Verona, a truly fine Italian city of Romeo and
Juliet fame, with its Roman theatre. Return to the
ship in Polesella before sailing on to Taglio di
Po to arrive in the evening.
Gala dinner on board.
Overnight stop.
4th Day: TAGLIO DI PO – CHIOGGIA (or area) – VENICE
Cruise off towards Chioggia early in the morning
and breakfast on board. Arrive mid morning.
Chioggia is a typical Adriatic fishing port built by the
Romans, and second Venetian Republic and boasts
works of art bearing witness to a great variety of
styles and periods. Take some time to stroll round
and discover the town for yourselves. Return to the
ship for lunch. Cruise back to Venice, arriving there
around 3.00pm. Guided visit to Doge’s Palace and
St. Mark’s Square (optional).
Return to the ship for
dinner. Free evening. Overnight stop.
5th Day: VENICE – LAGOON ISLAND – VENICE
Breakfast on board before setting off on a trip to the
lagoon islands (optional) of Murano and Burano.
Murano is famous for its glass work not forgetting
the fine churches of St. Maria and St. Donato, one of
the oldest in the lagoon. Burano, a fishing island, is
famous for its traditional lacework. Return on board
at 7 Martyrs quay. Enjoy a free afternoon, or have a
ride in a gondola (optional) (booking and settlement
on board).
Return on board in the evening for
dinner and free time. Overnight stop.
6th Day: VENICE
Sailing from 7 Martyrs quay early morning to join
San Basilio quay before disembarking at 9.00am after
breakfast. End of the cruise.
